There was some criticism of the 3.2L V6 engine found in the Audi A6 Sedan. Now there is the 2007 Audi A6 4.2L Sedan Quattro, which comes in answer to that slight criticism.
The new 4.2L V8 engine has five valves per cylinder and has an 80 horsepower boost over the 3.2L V6 engine. These cars are also equipped with a Tiptronic six-speed automatic transmission, which works hand in hand with the Quattro four-wheel drive that has been perfected by Audi.
With a starting price of just over $54,000, a little more money has bought a lot more engine in the A6 Sedan.

Some are a little more hesitant to have the new V8 engine due to fuel costs, but for some the extra power and performance make it worth it. For those that want the extra fuel economy they can purchase an A6 with a smaller engine.
