Audi has gone a slightly different way when creating their Allroad quattro, a luxury crossover SUV. Instead of building a larger vehicle that would try to combine the best features of a sedan and a traditional SUV, they simply strengthened the A6 Avant, giving it the extra level of capability that you would get in a crossover.
Based on the last generation A6, it is identical to the 2005 Audi AllRoad 4.2 quattro wagon in many respects. But it also has to it many new performance and structural features, like air suspension, which increased road clearance up to 60mm. Its design provides a perfect match for many new highlights in technology it has to offer, creating a vehicle that shows excellent performance both on-road and off-road.
This allroad quattro is powered by the 4.2-liter V8, probably one of the worlds most powerful and advanced self-ignition engines that sports 300-horsepower and 280 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a five-speed Tiptronic automatic. It is a smooth-riding, powerful car that makes for an interesting drive and behaves flawlessly in any conditions.
The interior is simple yet elegant, front seats are power-adjustable and supremely supportive, and the rear seats are a true pleasure to use. Standards include dual-zone automatic climate control, an in-dash six-CD changer and wood interior trim.
For the price of $41,000.00, the 2005 Audi allroad quattro offers presence, competence and pure driving pleasure.
