Some time ago, in 1996, when the first Audi A4 was introduced, it was clear to anyone that Audi not only had a great comeback, it also secured its place very near to the top of the list. And it never stopped impressing us since.
The new 2005 Audi A4 2.0 T is an exciting update that has been completely redesigned and now looks sharper and more aggressive with its new gigantic grille, dual exhaust and increased overall dimensions.
The inside of the A4 is yet another example of Audi’s gorgeous interior designs.
Some of the best specialists were working with top-class materials to create a car that is a pure pleasure to be in. Everything is done to the perfection and the attention to detail is remarkable. Soft materials and aluminium and optional wood trim all add to the feeling of luxury and comfort.
A six-disk CD changer comes as standard and so is a multifunction steering wheel. The driver’s seat has a four-position memory and adjusts pretty much in every way to ensure the perfect driving position. Some of the controls might take some time to get used to, but the overall impression is wonderful.
The engine is 2.0T, a 170-horsepower turbocharged inline four. The A4 is superbly balanced and despite being a bit heavier than its predecessors it still is one of the best cars in the luxury entry in terms of handling. Steering response is quick and crisp.
With the base suspension the ride feels firm without being too stiff. The road and wind noises are well filtered so the cabin is pleasantly quiet.
The new 2005 Audi A4 2.0 T is a fun and satisfying drive. It is a bit pricey but with its new beautiful looks and the technology to match it has all the reasons to be.
